Bad dog turns good… Part one

My friend Dash is a dog of many issues and she is very lucky that her mom admits that she has issues too ;) After almost 1.5 years of struggle about the most important question in a hooman-doggy-household “WHO IS THE PACK LEADER” her mom finally consulted a dog trainer. Now there are different opinions out there about the dog whisperer – Cesar Millan. But we love him. I guess I don’t have to explain to any of my readers and doggy friends who he is?! My mom actually said the if she won the lottery she would love to pay him to come to our house. Not because of me, just because she wants to talk to him and see what kind of person he is in real life. Anyway… Dash’s hooman was looking for someone to help her (read: her! Not the dog in the first place) for ages and finally found someone.

We think he got his training ideas from Cesar and even the accent fits. :) I loved him straight away. He had this catching personality. He took me for a short walk down the street and all I wanted was to “please” him. My mom also got a few helpful tips out of him but it didn’t hit me as bad as it did hit Dash!!!!! Believe it or not – but she is not allowed to sleep in her hoomans bed or even in the house anymore?! WHOT?! How can her hooman be so mean? And all of that only because she was running through the house like a mad thing, ignoring everything her hooman said, begged by the table, repeatedly emptied the rubbish bin and pulled her hoomen around the block like a tank on full speed loaded with bombs ready to go off…?! Not fair! I wonder if my mom would do the same thing if I would behave like Dash?! I guess she would, she is German too Dash’s mom – you know?!

Anyway – the progress so far seems to be amazing! Dash has calmed down a lot, stopped pulling the leash (not 100% but it is work in progress) and has a lot more respect for her hooman. There is no update on the inside the house behavior yet as she hasn’t been in the house ever since. But Dash just told me the other day that she doesn’t want to go inside anymore and that she likes it a lot more outside and that is was all her idea in the first place. My dad says that is exactly the attitude she shows when you look at her… Typical Staffy he says – stubborn till the end!

Now you might wonder why we didn’t post the link to the dog trainers page? Well – because we forgot his name, Dash mom is not available at the moment, his business card isn’t where it should be and we tried to google it in all possible variations we could think of with no result :( It will be in the next post.

Ok - that's when I came along and she had to ignore me. Well, not really ignore me but to stop behaving like a bulldozer... See her mom?!

Next one - even more difficult: ignoring yappy little whit thing behind the fence!

She was a great student. See - all fixed. She ignores the little dog. And can you also see how her mom is trying to pay attention?!

There is one new house rule: no dogs inside. Dash kinda accepted it straight away. Me?! Not so much... But I'm not stupid! No! I understood after 2 attempts that a good doggie for now stays outside. It works well with me and there are treats involved too!

    Hi Tealc,
yes, zee dog trainer Caio planted quite a lot of weird Ideas in my moms head and she (believe it or not) sees it through!
But I’m hanging in there and to make my point.
Last night when it rained so much she felt sorry for me sitting there in my little house so she asked me to come inside, I wanted her to beg so I just looked the other way, you know what she just said “fine then” and closed the door!
I had to spend the whole night outside in the stupid dog house.

    Lots of licks Dash

P.S. We should’t have destroyed the last doggy bed for my house, sleeping only on a blanket sucks!

WHAT??? No doggies in the house? What do they do with her just leave her out in the yard all day by herself? Poor thing, we don’t have dogs around where we live that are kept outside by themselves. Tell her to behave so she can get back inside soon.

My dad’s passion is dog training and actually he has a lot of clients who say he is at least as good as Cesar ;) Anyway, my dad tries to explain to the doggie owners that they have to learn our language – “doggisch”. If they start to except that dogs are not kids that makes the live of us and our owners so much easier, he says.
My little bro Dago and I are also not allowed to sleep on the couch or the bed – but a lot of our hotel guests are used to do so in their house. Kind of interessting how quick they learn and except the different rules in our house ;) They all seem to acutally enjoy their vacation with us and to be a dog ;)
If you ever need a vacation – come visit us, we would love to have you, Teal’C!
