Best weekend EVER
9.05.10 # 5:34 # My doggie friends # 16 Comments
I had the best weekend ever! You know why?! Because I had my 2 big friends Bessie and Max over at my place! And for us it was fun fun fun. I’m not so sure about my mum but from her happy smile when she saw us all together (sleeping) I take it the all her complaining wasn’t too serious… She actually sounded quite proud when she updated her facebook status comment with: “I have just managed to walk 150 kilo of dog, no incidents…” ![]()
- On the move
- Max off to see a tree…
- A wall will do just as good…
- Maybe we should apply for a job as sledge dogs…
- We kinda have worked it out…
- In the park – posing…
- Causing trouble!
- Causing even more trouble…
- Max missing out on the fact that he is a little bigger than me!
- At some point he gave his sofa mission up.
- Almost calm.
- My mum’s favourite set up!
- Snuggle time!
- With Max watching over us!
PS from Tealc’s hooman: I have had big dogs before. I have walked and controlled big dogs before but never more than 2 at the same time… To walk a Pitt Bull (the dog I had before Teal’c) and a Dogo Argentino (my best friends dog) both male, both with balls, both with the same goal: to pee on the next tree and protect me is somehow different from walking a desexed male (Master T.) who wants to play, a Mastiff girl who wants to eat anything (rotten or not) she can find and a Dogue de Bordeaux who has the tree issue too, at the same time. But I managed! It was actually fun. I seem to have established my “pack-leader” role and the fact that my rules are quite different from their daddy’s rules quite quickly.
Poor Max for example: Teal’c is not allowed to use the backyard as a toilet. He is never alone there for more than 6 hours anyway, so that is like being in the house and dogs don’t pee in the house either… So no smelly backyard. Max saw that quite differently. Everytime he came over in the past for a visit he had to “make his point”. I never said anything because if he is only there to visit I always thought it wouldn’t make a difference anyway. This time I made my point. He did it once and tried it once and that was it for the weekend even when I left them all alone to go shopping. Mission accomplished!
They also walked heal, didn’t pull which they don’t do with their hooman either but I thought because I was only a small girl they would try. Nope, all good.
Although we are still working on the “no toys inside” rule
PS: A BIG THANKS FROM MY MUM TO DASH’S MUM WHO DID THE FIRST WALK WITH US AS BACK-UP!!!!

Nothing like a doggy sleepover! And hats off to the human for keeping it under control.
Well – your hoomans have to control even more doggies, actually my mum was thinking of you guys when she helped me to write this article!
Slobbers Teal’c
Ha! Dogs with balls. Makes for great fun on walkies. Your human is very brave. I am inspired.
Slobbers,
Mango
Why Mango WHY!? Are you planning on walking your hoomans, Dexter and the rest of the family all by yourself now!?
Wow, I can’t believe your human walked all 3 of you together – what an achievement!
My human agrees that us doggies size them up immediately when we meet them and so if they establish themselves as pack leader immediately, with consistent rules, then we are very happy to follow them. There are humans who have been living with their doggies for YEARS who STILL haven’t managed to show that they are pack leaders!
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
Hehe – true there are some hoomans out there that could as well wear the collar and the leash instead of the dog – wouldn’t make a difference!
Slobbers T.
Hi Tealc,
My Mom told me about it and the funny part where a Lady asked if Max is a Dog or a Pony?!
Kissies Dash
Hehe – yes – that was quite funny… He actually asked if he was a horse! I think they are even bigger than Ponies LOL. I just kinda get the feeling that no one sees me anymore when I’m out with them
ANYWAY – my mum just realised that she completely forgot to say thank you to your mum for helping out on the first walk!!!!! Can you give her a big slobber from us when she gets home?!
Solbbers n Knutsch
Teal’c
Wow, your mum is tough! Our mum has sometimes trouble walking me and my little bro because Dago is already heavier then me and he starts trying to find out how far he can go…Our daddy is walking everyday 7 to 8 dogs at once – but he is used to it, it’s his job
Which you and your friends could go on a hike with us!
Slobbers from the other side of the world!
That sounds like an pawsome job your daddy has! I guess my mum would like to do something like that too! xxx
Errr I can think of one thing that would have made the weekend better…..
ohhhhhh – don’t be such a sook daddy!!! Not my fault that you are in far far away land again…
I am impressed! Both with the human and with the well-behaved dogs.
Thanks!!! From Teal’c and Teal’c mum
Wow…it looks like everybuddy (including mom) had a ton of fun! Isn’t it great to have furends?
Wiggles & Wags,
Mayzie
Yeah – friends are the best thing in the world! Next to food, chicken wings, sleeping in mum’s bed and DADDY BEING HOME!!!
