There is a doggy beach at Botany Bay, near the port. Up until the end of last year it was actually rather nice for a beach so close to the port. My humans even got into the water with me on good days. But then they started closing off parts of the beach to make the port bigger 
and everything got very dirty and nasty. And for a while they colsed it completely. So my humans didn’t take me there anymore Not until my mom read a post on Mikes blog about the beach and the pics looked great. Well, as great as a beach next the a huge port can look… So we gave it a go on Saturday morning at 6:15 AM and it was quite nice. The water was more brown then blue but heh – we are not that good with colors anyway… I had lot’s of fun despite the fact that my mom went there so early to avoid other dogs. She says I’m still “in training” when it comes to beach trips. I get sooooooooo excited when I see the water that I kinda forget about my humans. It’s just me, other dogs and the water… But after our Saturday trip I got an extra chicken wing for good behavior! 
How to get there?! The beach is on Foreshore Road. So if you drive towards Sydney airport and the follow the signs to the port you should get there. If you come from Sydney direction you drive past the entrance, it is to your right. So you gotta do a U-turn at the entrance to the port and go back towards the airport. After maybe 1500m you can see a gap in the fence. That is pretty much the only indication that there is a path… Good luck

I love the beach and my humans say kind of the same about my behavior….I don’t get it! They take us to this great place to have fun…and if we have fun….?
I can’t wait to see how my “little bro” (10 weeks now) will react the first time at the beach! Will he get in trouble as well?
BTW – who is the guy/girl in the sand?

The beach outing looks fun… did you get to swim out to the sea? I love to go to the beach too… but we don’t live near any, so it’s a long drive for us.

@Shiloh: I know what you are talking about!!!! Dunno why humans do that all the time – when it’s fun we have to stop! And you know what is even worse?! After the fun you get a shower! PAH! Look at the last pic of me – all showered… What for I ask!? Haven’t I just been at the beach getting all wet in the first place?! PAH!
And nah – the little ones never get into as much trouble because they are soooooo cute
Yeah – I found that girl in the sand… Kinda scary, I didn’t want to go there but my human didn’t manage to take pic of my attempts! Lucky me…
@Hero: No beaches?!?!! What a shame! It’s so much fun!!!! I would love to go for long swims but my mom is concerned about something called Bull Shark that might eat me?! Dunno never seen one and neither did she – but it is a “just in case” thing … Apparently…

Sash (staffy X) and Tigger(wolfhound X) LOVE this beach!!! To me it looks a bit like a dump but the dogs get to sniff, whiz and swim without hassle.
All I ask is that people collect and dispose of their rubbish when visiting Port Botany
I agree! Why is it so difficult for most of the hoomans to clean up behind them?

I have to agree with all of u. I love beach, but my mum only takes me for a walk on the footpath near the beach in Sans Souci Apparently she will be fined if I go in the water.
I would love to visit the beach in Botany Buy on Foreshore Road, and mum will be driving from Rockdale direction. So can you please explain again how to get there? Would mum be able to park the car?
