Brainy dog toys
8.11.09 # 21:47 # Teal'c tests TOYS # 11 CommentsNow that I have started reading other dogs blogs I came across lots of different toys for brainy dogs. Well – I don’t consider myself as the brightest canine in the kennel but I’m not stupid either. Now my mom found this thing on Parlances blog and made it for me. The original idea is from a German page called Spass mit Hund (click the little flag and you will get the English version of “Fun with your dog”)… So my human sat down and made that plastic bottle thing but I didn’t know what to do. I mean god gave me big teeth – why not use them? Instead of turning it around like Penny did in the video I had a good bite, more holes and voila – the treats came out. Oh well…
The one here is more at my liking! 2 big balls on a rather big rope! It’s not doing anything for the brainz but is good for da teeth
It also is really cheep. At only 5 bucks at the Petbarn in Alexandria, it is something my mom is happy for me to destroy within minutes and that makes it even more fun. So – the balls die over a period of approximately 15 minutes and cause a lot of chaos in the backyard which my human always cleans up immediately saying something about me otherwise eating the small bits. As if I would!!!! But anyway the rope lasts for ages and it heaps of fun when my friend Dash is over. And she is at the moment so I gotta go back to the backyard entertaining her!!! SLOBBERS TEAL’C

That is my new, soon to die, toy!

As I said - no brainz but teeth!

And jumpz...

Come on! Just give it to me!!!

Please!!!

Now you may go!
Tealc’s human:
I’m surprised by the amount of brain-games that are out there for dogs. For me having a dog was about having fun with, you know, easy games… Sticks, balls, ropes etc. … But looking at some of those alternite games they seem to be fun as well and I’ll certainly try some of them . Personally I think you can exaggerate the matter like those German guys HERE. But after all it was a competition for the best new toy for clever dogs.
And the people competing were Germans. I wouldn’t have expected less!!

Hi Teal’c! Your blog is fairly new but I already love reading it!!!! So keep going You look so cute with your new toy… Especially in picture one!!!
That rope toy looks fun – they are some big tennis balls, they’d be the perfect size for me when I’m full grown
I love the bottle filled with treats game, though I get a little angry when nothing comes out and start jumping on it! hehe.
Licks,
Lexi
From Laura (Lexi’s Human) – Lexi does get the treats out, but she just doesn’t realise they have come out, hehe!
@chris: Thanks for saying hello!!!! I hope you keep reading my blog…
@Lexi: Yeah – I guess it will be just about the right size for you! They also come in PINK!!!! My mom says that is a much better colour for a pretty girl like you… is it?! Slobbers
@Lexis human from Tealc’s human: I know what you mean and I can exactly picture Lexis face… Like “Ohhh – no noise anymore what could that possibly mean!? Ohhh – it means treat gone! But I had no treat!? Stupid bottle!!!” Or you know, something along those lines…
Hi Teal’c,
Tank yu fer visitn my blog!! My hooman has nots ritten fer awhiles now becawse she’s been bizy with skool. I tank we do looks alike!!
Yer frend,
Tank
Hey Teal’c – that is a COOL toy!! I’m crazy about tennis balls – although usually, I like them loose and rolling so I can chase them – ha! ha!
By the way, you have a great blog – my human says she is going to sit down when she gets time (probably not for a while!) and read through it because we will be moving to Sydney in a few years (1st Brisbane, then Newcastle, then Sydney in the 3rd yr) so it will be very useful to know all this information for dogs there and it is very good of you and your human to share it with everyone – thanks!
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
ps. am curious to find out why your human’s father doesn’t/shouldn’t know about you!!!
Hiya Tank! Cool that you came to visit! I’ll keep waiting for updates on your blog as I looooooove your writing style. But my human says that our (HER) English is weird enough as it is.
That swimming thingy you have looks strange… Can’t you swim without it?!?!?
Slobbers Teal’c
Hi Honey! Thanks for your compliment about our blog! My human got all blushed… She is still working on the logo as she thinks it’s not 100% yet. Hooooomans – I tell ya!!!
So you are actually coming closer to Sydney! That’s awesome. Both of my humans don’t really like it up the cost as it is too hot and sticky and especially in Queensland they are a little bit strange about Pit Bulls and Staffies… Oh well – but I guess they will love you! And if you ever come for a visit to Sydney – let me know! I’ll show you around!!!!
Lots of slobbers!!!
PS: I think tennis balls are there to die!
PSS: I don’t think sharks are the worst think in the waters around Brisbane!
PSS: I’ll remind my mom to explain the secret thing with her human daddy soon!
Teal’c,
my swimmy thang is a lyfevest. I can’ts swims with its or withouts it..haha…I am a landlover..no waters fer me!!
Tank
Tank – you can’t swim?!?! That is weird! So my human was lying to me when she said “go in there it is fun and you won’t drown”!? Wahhhhhhhh!!!! Typical. I jumped and did that strange movement with all my paws – worked for me. But maybe you have too much muscle! Too heavy to swim.
Have a good one – T.
Teal’c, I figure if you got the treats out, then you solved the bottle puzzle. That reminds me of the story about Alexander the Great and the Gordian Knot. He solved it by cutting it in half with his sword. So I think we should call you Teal’c the Great.
You got a point there!! A very good one actually… I’ll tell my humans to call me “Teal’c the Great” from now on. “Master Teal’c” always struck me as an understatement anyway
