Happy Birthday Dash!!!!! 4th of July… No other date would suit her better! My hooman actually promised me to design a nice card I can give to my favourite girlfriend and one for my bloggie-friend El’bow but as usual – no time! But she told me she will try and do it next weekend.

Anyway – I had a great weekend! We went to Dash’s place for her Birthday party. There was me, Dash and lots of hoomans… Not a real doggie-party hey?! Well the reason is that Dash isn’t as good with other dogs. She only loves me and one other Staffy guy. But guess what – I DON’T LIKE HIM! Me, who gets on with all the doggies in the park… I think I’m allowed to dislike one doggie. The one my girlfriend kinda is in looooooooove too when I’m not around. Fair enough – me thinks!

So the hoomans had Glühwein (German winter thing – spiced hot red wine) and we had doggie cupcakes! YEAH! My hooman say that she will post the recipe in one of the next posts.

I think you shouldn’t give your dogs shoes to play with. It only teaches them bad habits… But come on, a pink high heel for the princess!? How could I resist?!

Best weekend EVER

I had the best weekend ever! You know why?! Because I had my 2 big friends Bessie and Max over at my place! And for us it was fun fun fun. I’m not so sure about my mum but from her happy smile when she saw us all together (sleeping) I take it the all her complaining wasn’t too serious… She actually sounded quite proud when she updated her facebook status comment with: “I have just managed to walk 150 kilo of dog, no incidents…”

PS from Tealc’s hooman: I have had big dogs before. I have walked and controlled big dogs before but never more than 2 at the same time… To walk a Pitt Bull (the dog I had before Teal’c) and a Dogo Argentino (my best friends dog) both male, both with balls, both with the same goal: to pee on the next tree and protect me is somehow different from walking a desexed male (Master T.) who wants to play, a Mastiff girl who wants to eat anything (rotten or not) she can find and a Dogue de Bordeaux who has the tree issue too, at the same time. But I managed! It was actually fun. I seem to have established my “pack-leader” role and the fact that my rules are quite different from their daddy’s rules quite quickly.

Poor Max for example: Teal’c is not allowed to use the backyard as a toilet. He is never alone there for more than 6 hours anyway, so that is like being in the house and dogs don’t pee in the house either… So no smelly backyard. Max saw that quite differently. Everytime he came over in the past for a visit he had to “make his point”. I never said anything because if he is only there to visit I always thought it wouldn’t make a difference anyway. This time I made my point. He did it once and tried it once and that was it for the weekend even when I left them all alone to go shopping. Mission accomplished!

They also walked heal, didn’t pull which they don’t do with their hooman either but I thought because I was only a small girl they would try. Nope, all good.
Although we are still working on the “no toys inside” rule

PS: A BIG THANKS FROM MY MUM TO DASH’S MUM WHO DID THE FIRST WALK WITH US AS BACK-UP!!!!

Oh is is so good to have mommy and daddy back for a while!!!! Nevertheless I decided to be moody last night and not to sleep in their bed but on my sofa in moms study. And you know what?! They didn’t even call my saying something about “more space”!? Hmmm – I might have to stop being moody to get some more attention!

Anyway – I got a few pictures for you from my BIG friends Bessie the Bullmastiff and Max the Douge de Bordeaux. We went for a long walk together in Sydney Park and it is just so much fun with the 2 of them!!! Bessie and I can do with Max whatever we want and he just takes it… We can jump on him, sit on him, bite him, take balls and sticks away from him, chase him and he loves it! He is such a relaxed big fellow and we are so glad the Matt rescued him and is giving him a new forever home. First it was to be temporary – until he finds someone else… But hey, most of our hoomans are the same. Once we have looked at them with our big brown eyes for more then a minute we got them!!!

First of all I wanted to say thank you to all of you for the comments on my last post! I’m glad that so many of you liked my picture. I really did my best to look cool but as you can see – I had to close my eyes the moment my mom pressed the button… All the salt water can be annoying! As for the sharks – I try not to think about them most of the time and my mom explained to me that when there are lots of doggies in the water the chance I get eaten gets smaller so I make sure to always have friends with me when I go surfing…

But hey – that wasn’t the reason for my post… I wanted to share those pics with you my hooman took a while ago when we met this cute Pit Bull puppy in Newtown…

We met this little puppy some time ago but my mom fell in love straight away...

Me too... I mean not love (it was a boy) more in the I-could-do-with-a-24h-play-mate kind of way...

Mango Minster 2010 – we can’t decide – HELP!

Mango seems to be everywhere and he seems to know everyone because he is such a cool guy!!!! Now he has a contest on “Mango Minster 2010″ and as it is my first year of blogging it is also my first chance to enter the contest.

It’s all about doggies (and for some reasons cats?!) and pictures. Now I have sooooooooo many pictures of my pretty self that I can’t decide which one to give to Mango…

There are quite a few categories:

Cat Dogs – Some doggies are, well, CATS. Right? So if you are a cat which is actually not a dog, never fear, you can enter here (hey, that’s like a poem).
I guess I’m out of that one…

Hound Dogs – Do you bay at the moon? Become deaf when your snooter is engaged? Run fast on long legs? This is your category.
Just double checked – long legs are in the eye of the beholder I guess, but no – not me either.

Herding Dogs – All you guys and gals who love to round things up enter here (yes, even Border Collie dogs which are not actual doggies, but alien beings from the planet Agility).
Ähm – no. When I come running they run too. Opposite direction…

Sporty Dogs – If you do a sport or are basically a good sport about life, then you are a Sporty Dog.
Now we are talking! I am sporty!!!

Non-Sporty Dogs – Bad dog! Bad dog! Grouchy? Sore loser? You know who you are.
Not me. My mom makes sure of it!!!

Hard Working Dogs – Have a job? This one is for you.
Oh yes! That’s me and the second category I would love to enter…

Cracker Dog Insane Terriers (CDIT) – Let’s face it, first of all, we are Relentlessly Huge terrier fans here at the estate. Plus there just is nothing like a terrier.
The rest of the family has already a screw loose – not me though…

Now I have found 2 pictures and I just can’t decide!
The first one would go into the “Sporty Dogs” category. That’s me braving the ocean and it shows off that I’m a) a real Aussie as I could swim before I stopped peeing on the carpet and b) that I’m obviously not just sporty but also very graceful and talented!

The second one!? Category: Hard working dogs. I’M A MODEL, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN… Man I tell you that is a hard job! All the pressure all the time! And then the non professionals I have to work with – shocking! That picture was taken when I had already been sitting there for 5 minutes waiting for the flashlights to go off and my (one of my, that comes with the job description) girlfriends just refused to play her part. Sigh! See my desperate look? It really is hard to keep that natural smile up when you are waiting, waiting, waiting… Just after this picture I had to go outside to relax my jaw muscles, have a drink of cold water and a chicken wing…

Anyway – now I’m asking: please vote!!! Help me to decide which one I should choose… Thanks guys!!!!!

Mango – my hooman is asking if she is actually allowed to enter being a professional photographer and all?! She couldn’t find anything in the rules about it. Maybe the second pic might not be appropriate (and there is not just me in the picture anyway) but the first one, she says, was taken with a little waterproof camera, while she was swimming backwards waiting for the same wave to crash over her… And sure there were sharks somewhere as well…

I braved the fireworks!

Hi guys and welcome in 2010! I just quickly wanted to share a few pics from last night… Our hoomans stayed at home because we live so close to the city that you can hear the fireworks and us dogs get really scared by the noise. Also my hoomans said that they have done it all – next to the bridge, at the Opera House, on the other side of the bridge, on the water, by the water – so it felt for some reasons right to “just” stay at home. So Ziggy came over with his hoomans and the little hairless thing he takes care of and we had a great night!

Can you see my concerned face?! Yes? You know why I was concerned? There were suddenly hundreds of people moving into MY PARK!

See! Apparently there were there to watch the fireworks - at 6PM?!

I'm sure they are not just there for the fireworks - they are moving in!

See how brave I was? I watched the fireworks close up!

While Ziggy did his job, as usual!

The “Dog-Lady”

When my hoomans are really busy I spend my days at “The Dog-Lady’s” – and those are great days… Don’t get me wrong, I love being with my family but being able to play non stop for hours with almost no rules and a whole pack of dogs- PRICELESS!!!! Juanita usually takes care of up to 10 dogs and when I’m there I’m having a ball. Sometimes my mom drops me off there even if she is actually working from home because she knows how much I enjoy it. Unfortunately for us, not for her, she has sold her house and is off to India for a while. We all hope (doggies and hoomans) that she comes back soon as she is one of the few people in Sydney my mom is happy leaving me with when she has to go away.

JUANITA – YOU ARE PAWSOME AND I’LL MISS YOU AND YOUR DOGGIES BADLY! BUT WE ALL WISH YOU AND YOUR HUBBY A GREAT, SAFE TRIP! JUST COME BACK SOON! SLOBBERS TEAL’C

Now – the 24th of December was my hoomans wedding anniversary and my dad gave my mom 2 skydive vouchers. I think the plan was for the 2 of them to jump together but when they drove me to the Dog-Lady in the morning there was another chick in the car as well and daddy looked more like a photographer than like a Skydiver (and he keeps calling me a wuss – pah!)

Anyway – while my mom threw herself out of a plane I had a pawsome day!!!!!

Where are we going?! Did I hear the word "Dog-Lady"???

I'm usually a very well behaved dog but when I see the "green-fence" I turn mad!

That's because the Dog-Lady and all my friends are behind the green fence!!

I even turn blurry!

Ahhhh - I'm in!!!!!

That's my making my parents feel bad look! I guess it would work much better if Juanita wouldn't tell them how much fun I had...

And usually when they pick me up I have real difficulties to decide whether I want to leave or not.

Twas the night before Christmas
when all thru the house

Not a creature was stirring
not even a mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that St. Nick soon would be there.

The children were nestled, all snug in their beds
With no thought of the dog outside filling their heads.

And Mom in her kerchief and I in my cap
Knew the dog was cold, but didn’t care about that.

Away to the window I flew like a flash
Did the dog break his chain and get into the trash?

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow
gave the luster of mid-day to objects below.

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But Santa Claus, with his eyes full of tears.

He unchained the dog, once so lively and quick
Last year’s Christmas present now painfully sick.

More rapid than eagles he called the dog’s name
and the dog ran to him despite all his pain.

Now Dasher, now Dancer, now Prancer and Vixen
On Comet on Cupid on Donner and Blitzen.

To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall
Let’s find this dog a home where he’ll be loved by all.

I knew in an instant there would be no gifts this year
For Santa had made one thing painfully clear.

The gift of a dog is not just for the season
We had gotten the dog for all the wrong reasons.

In our haste to fill the kids’ Christmas list,

A dog should be family, and cared for the same

My mom is a photographer – that can sometimes be really annoying… I think I’m the most photographed dog in the world but I’m also a pro! Unlike some of my friends that just don’t like their picture to be taken, they don’t want to sit down in the studio or they are more interested in eating the backdrop then posing on it. But usually my mom manages to get good pictures regardless. Not without my help though. Most of the time I’m there as well and the moment I get all the praise and treats for posing like a model the other dogs think if they try and be just as good they get something as well – works for me, for my mom and for our furry models
